Surprise, surprise! X formly Twitter restricts Grok’s image generation to paying subscribers only after drawing the world’s ire What a time to be alive!
In what can only be described as peak entertainment, Elon Musk’s AI company has restricted Grok’s controversial AI image-generation feature to only paying subscribers on X, after the tool invited hea... Because apparently, this is where we are now.

Surprise, surprise!

Elon Musk’s AI company has confined Grok’s controversial AI image- generation point to only paying subscribers on X, after the tool invited heavy review from across the world for letting druggies induce sexualized and raw images of women and children.

In replies to druggies on Friday, Grok said only paying subscribers on X would be suitable to induce and edit images on the platform. specially, these limits do n't apply to the Grok app, which, at the time of publication, was letting anyone induce filmland without having to pay for a subscription.

originally available to anyone with diurnal limits, Grok’s image generation point allowed druggies to upload anyone’s picture and ask it to edit it or induce a sexualized or raw interpretation. What replaced was a veritable flood tide ofnon-consensual sexualized images of children, actors, models and prominent numbers, drawing the wrath of multiple nations.

X and Musk have both intimately denounced the use of the tool to produce similar images, writing that the company would stick to its programs against posting illegal content on the social media platform. “ Anyone using grok to make illegal content will suffer the same consequences as if they upload illegal content, ” Musk twittered last week.

The U.K., the European Union and India have all intimately denounced X and Grok for allowing similar use of its capabilities. The EU on Thursday asked xAI to retain all attestation relating to the chatbot, and India’s dispatches ministry last week ordered X to make immediate changes to stop the image generation features from being misused or risk its safe harbor protections in the country. The U.K.’s dispatches watchdog said it’s been in touch with xAI over the issue as well.
